ATC Pest Control – DIY Mosquito Kit Instructions
Kit Includes: 2 Years Worth of Mosquito Treatments!

• Talstar P (Residual Insecticide)
• NyGuard IGR (Insect Growth Regulator – Additive)
• Mosquito Dunks (Larvicide)

Items You Will Need:

• 1-gallon B&G sprayer (not included – required for application)
• Water source for mixing

Step 1: Identify Breeding and Resting Areas

Before treating, walk the property and locate:

• Areas with standing water (ponds, birdbaths, gutters, plant trays, etc.)
• Shady and humid areas where adult mosquitoes rest (shrubs, under decks, shaded walls)

Step 2: Treat Standing Water with Mosquito Dunks

Purpose: Prevent mosquito larvae from developing into biting adults.

• Place 1 dunk per 100 square feet of water surface area.
• Dunks are safe for pets, birds, and wildlife.
• Replace monthly or as needed if water is disturbed.

Step 3: Prepare the Spray Mix for Adult Mosquito Control

Purpose: Kill adult mosquitoes and disrupt breeding cycle.

• In a 1-gallon B&G sprayer, mix:
• 1 oz. of Talstar P
• 4 ml (about ⅛ oz.) of NyGuard IGR
• Fill the rest with water
• Shake well before use.

⚠️ Only mix what you will use the same day. Do not store mixed product.

Step 4: Apply the Spray

• Spray around shaded outdoor areas, shrubbery, under decks, along the foundation, and fence lines—anywhere mosquitoes may rest.
• Avoid spraying during windy or rainy conditions.
• Do not spray on flowers or vegetable gardens.
• Allow treated areas to dry completely before children or pets re-enter.

Step 5: Repeat Every 21–30 Days

• For best results, apply monthly throughout mosquito season.
• Re-treat standing water with mosquito dunks monthly as well.
